Hannah learned about The Big Picture Project through her 5th grade teacher and wanted to know if there was a way that she too could get involved. Her teacher sent her home with the website link and told her to check out the ways she could make an impact. After looking at the website she decided she wanted to donate, but as she counted money in her piggy bank she felt she didn’t have enough to contribute. With her 10th birthday on the horizon, Hannah made the selfless decision to ask for money in lieu of gifts for her party – money that she would donate to The Big Picture Project. She hoped that in doing so she would not only raise funds for the cause, but raise awareness amongst friends and family.
After her birthday, Hannah presented The Big Picture Project with a $200 donation and proudly declared that being able to give was better than any gift she could have gotten. Hannah holds the secret that only those who give know – that the more we give the richer we become!
If a 9 year old girl can find a way to change the world, can’t we all?
